What do I do if I have a dental emergency?

If you have a dental emergency near Oatley, NSW, we encourage you to contact our dental team to book an emergency visit as soon as possible. Our team reserves slots in the daily schedule to accommodate dental emergencies, and we always work to treat you as quickly as possible.

While You Await Your Emergency Dental Visit

If you have a toothache, you can try a shop-bought pain reliever if you’re medically able. You can also use an ice pack to numb the area and gain some relief temporarily. Some patients use clove oil as a transient anaesthetic or rinse their mouth with warm salt water.

If your tooth has been knocked out, we encourage you not to overhandle it. Instead, please pick it up by the crown, taking care not to touch the root. Then, place it in a cup of saliva or milk. With prompt emergency care, we can sometimes reset and save the tooth.

When you call our dental clinic to report your dental emergency, a team member can provide more customised advice to see you through until you visit the dentist.
